由于齒科動物的毛發(fā)和尿液在長波紫外線燈照射下會發(fā)出熒光。鼠類的毛發(fā)在紫外線燈下會發(fā)出藍(lán)白色熒光，因此通過紫外線燈會很快會找到老鼠的痕跡。另一方面，已經(jīng)鼠類的尿液痕跡會發(fā)出藍(lán)白色到黃白色熒光。新鮮的鼠類尿液為藍(lán)色熒光。由于鼠類通常在爬行時小便，所以，通常使用luyor-2120b紫外線燈根據(jù)熒光的曲線能清晰分別出是不是鼠類的痕跡。

luyor-2120b紫外線燈還被用作檢查黃曲霉素的污染。大豆、花生玉米等農(nóng)作物在夏天潮濕的環(huán)境中很容易產(chǎn)生黃曲霉毒素，黃曲霉毒素不管是對人類或牲畜具有嚴(yán)重致癌性，luyor-2120b紫外線燈輸出的高強(qiáng)度紫外線能夠輕松檢查出被黃曲霉素污染的飼料。
